Harley Dome (Site) is an abandoned produced water treatment facility, located directly across the Utah border from Grand Junction, CO at the intersection of Old Hwy Harley Dome & Hwy 6 & 50. The site contains numerous abandoned chemical totes, drums, and miscellaneous containers with unknown or partially labeled contents throughout the buildings onsite and surrounding areas. Additionally, the site contains several above-ground storage tanks with unknown contents.

This Site was identified by the EPA in May 2025 through the Utah Department of Environmental Quality via an anonymous spill report. The spill report described hazardous waste, such as acids, corrosives, and possible explosives, being stored at an abandoned produced water treatment facility in Westwater, Utah. In July 2025, Utah DEQ and EPA began an initial assessment of the report including review of site photos and a site visit. EPA plans to mobilize to the site in Fall 2025 to assess the contents of the containers and tanks onsite.
