US EPA has treated and disposed of waste at the Dededo
Waste Piles . US EPA
received a request for assistance from Guam EPA to remove hazardous and
contaminated wastes from the site. The site is located northwest of the
intersection of Marine Corps Dr. and Bartolu St. in the Ipapao District, Dededo,
Guam.
The piles contained waste contaminated with:
- lead and other metals,
- polychlorinated biphenyls,
- pesticides, and
- petroleum hydrocarbons.
EPA has removed the contaminated material, treated it, and disposed of it in permitted landfills according to the waste sampling results.
